BJP MLA Rajkumar Imo Singh said that an FIR has been filed under various sections by a concerned citizen of the state, for a hate post against the official Facebook page of Kuki Times, where it has openly threatened to bomb Imphal city starting from chief minister's residence.
He said that strict action should be initiated against such people.
Singh stated in a post on X (formerly Twitter),«I urge people across all communities to show some restrain and instead work towards bringing peace. Peace can only be brought when violence stops and political dialogue starts involving all sections of the society.»
In the FIR lodged at Imphal west police station the person stated, «A complaint for taking up strict legal action against the accused person(s) for committing offence under Section 120-A, 121, 121-A, 124, 153-A, 5|1 and Section 13, 18 of the UAP Act, 1967 so as to punish them in accordance with law.
Accused person: Kuki Times. The complainant as a law abiding citizen of India and responsible citizen filed the present complaint against the accused person and his associates for their unlawful activities which is a serious threat to the national security and destroying peace and harmony of the State».
The FIR stated the State of Manipur is now under a state of fear and uncertainties because of the frequent barbaric attacks by armed Kuki militants in association with their armed foreign militants from Myanmar against the Meetie/Meitei civilians of the State since 3rd May 2023, till today.
The Kuki's from Manipur and their brethren from Myanmar, Bangladesh are demanding for a separate Kuki homeland/country called Zalengam by integrating parts of Myanmar, Bangladesh & India. They even submitted memorandum to the United Nations
