American electric automaker, Fisker (NYSE:FSR) issued a statement Friday concerning a preliminary evaluation initiated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Office of Defects Investigation. The evaluation was initiated following reports of breaking issues with the company’s 2023 Fisker Ocean.
“Fisker is fully cooperating with NHTSA on this matter.” Wrote the company.
The Fisker Ocean brake system incorporates both friction and regenerative braking. In December 2023, Fisker addressed customer feedback by releasing an Over-the-Air update (Version 1.10) for the regenerative system. According to Fisker, the update enhances the customer experience on bumpy and uneven surfaces, effectively resolving the issue.
Fisker also noted that the Fisker Ocean brake system complies with or surpasses all performance requirements set by both US and international standards.
Shares of FSR are down 0.57% in mid-day trading on Friday.
