Flipkart on Friday launched a new grocery fulfilment centre, or warehouse, at Sonipat in Haryana that will help the online marketplace expand its grocery services to over 150 pin codes across tier-II and tier-III towns such as Meerut, Panipat, Rohtak and Wazirpur.

The 1.29 lakh square feet facility is Flipkart’s fourth grocery fulfilment centre in Haryana, with the others located in Ballabgarh, Rewari, and Tauru.
The company also broke ground for the construction of its new regional distribution centre in Manesar, which is expected to be built over the next few years. Spread over 140 acres, it is expected to cater to a wide range of products, including parcel goods, white goods, and furniture, adapting its assortment to meet customer requirements and market trends.
The announcements by Flipkart have come just ahead of its festive season sale. ET had reported on August 23 that theetailer had started reaching out to sellers ahead of its annual flagship sale, ‘The Big Billion Days’.
