Check latest updates According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhi received 153 mm of rainfall within a 24-hour period ending at 8:30 am on Sunday, marking the highest rainfall in a single day in July since 1982. The IMD further explained that the intense rainfall was the result of the interaction between a western disturbance and monsoonal winds affecting northwest India, including Delhi.
