India-Morocco strategic partnership stands tall on four pillars including that of food security, each representing a key area of collaboration, according to Moroccan Ambassador to India Mohamed Maliki. “The first pillar focuses on economic ties, emphasizing trade and investment to foster sustainable growth and development for both our nations.
The second pillar prioritizes sensitive areas such as defense, space, cybercrime, and security, aiming to enhance regional stability and address common threats,” Maliki noted. “The third pillar centers on cultural and human exchanges, emphasizing mutual understanding and appreciation.
This pillar exemplifies the richness of our societies, our heritage, and our shared values, creating bridges that unite us beyond borders,” he said, adding, “Lastly, the fourth pillar emphasizes our joint commitment to addressing global challenges. Together, Morocco and India are determined to tackle issues like climate change and terrorism through joint collaboration and decisive action.
Our partnership transcends borders, for the challenges we face today require collective efforts, driven by friendship and solidarity.” Referring to the bilateral trade, the envoy noted, “Bilateral trade between our nations has witnessed remarkable growth, reaching a record high in recent times (it exceeded 4 billion US dollars last year). Morocco's vital role as a key supplier of phosphates and fertilizers to India has contributed significantly to India's agricultural sector and its food security.” Maliki is was speaking on the occasion of Morocco’s National Day function in New Delhi last week.
