Anaheim Ducks forward Nic Kerdiles lost his life in a motorcycle crash at the age of 29. The unfortunate accident occurred on a Saturday in Nashville, Tennessee.
According to reports from the local police, Kerdiles was riding his Indian motorcycle when he ran a stop sign, resulting in a collision with the driver's side of a BMW SUV.
Neither the driver appeared to be impaired by any substances.
Kerdiles born in Irvine, California, made history by becoming the first player from Orange County to be drafted by the Anaheim Ducks back in 2012. While he was a second-round pick, his NHL career consisted of two seasons with the Ducks, spanning from 2016 to 2018.
However, he was later traded to the Winnipeg Jets, though he never got the chance to don a Jets uniform.
During his time in Anaheim, Kerdiles participated in three games but did not manage to record any points on the scoreboard.
In the wake of this tragic news, the Anaheim Ducks expressed their condolences through social media, stating, «We're heartbroken to hear the news about Nic Kerdiles. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to his family and loved ones.»
Apart from his hockey career, Nic Kerdiles was also known to non-hockey fans for his appearance on the reality TV show «Chrisley Knows Best.» He was formerly engaged to Savannah Chrisley in 2018, and their relationship was featured on the show that followed the adventures of the Chrisley family.
Savannah Chrisley, mourning the loss of her ex-fiancé, shared her feelings on her Instagram story, expressing hope for a response to her text.
In a heartfelt tribute, she referred to Kerdiles as the «most beautiful angel».
