Bhattacharjee has been kept on non-invasive ventilator support in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of premier private hospital Woodlands Hospital after his oxygen saturation dropped. A nine-member inter-disciplinary medical team has been formed, which is closely monitoring his treatment. According to the medical bulletin, Bhattacharjee is suffering from lower respiratory tract infection and he is suffering from Type-II respiratory failure.
