Fortnite Reload was introduced after the Metallica live concert on June 22, 2024. The concert lasted 20-30 minutes and marked the launch of the new mode. Fortnite Reload is open to all players, though Epic Games has not specified when the mode will end.
Epic Games has temporarily disabled Fortnite Reload due to a bug. Players reported loading into blank white maps. Fortnite’s official account on Twitter/X announced, “We’re working to resolve an issue where Reload players load into a blank white map.” Epic will update players once the issue is resolved.

Fortnite Reload was initially released in Chapter 5 Season 3 and has since received minor updates. These updates primarily focused on items, weapons and small gameplay tweaks. The biggest change came with the Chapter 2 Remix update, adding a new Oasis map and updating the loot pool.
To play Fortnite Reload, players navigate to the Lobby menu, select the Reload mode in Discover, and press «Play.» Reload allows team elimination, where all team members must be wiped out for elimination to count. The mode currently supports duos and squads, while solo and trio modes are not yet available.
