Full Yemen war plans exposed in bombshell Signal chat, encrypted messages now public; check here for all of Trump's officials' communication
Accidental Inclusion
National Security Advisor Mike Waltz created a group chat on the messaging app Signal. This chat included high-ranking officials, such as Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, CIA Director John Ratcliffe and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard. Jeffrey Goldberg, editor-in-chief of The Atlantic, was mistakenly added to this group. The officials discussed sensitive military operations against Houthi rebels in Yemen. Goldberg observed these conversations without participating and later reported on them.

Leaked Messages' Content
The messages contained detailed operational information, including specific targets, weapons systems to be used, and the timing of planned strikes. For example, on March 15, 2025, at 11:44 a.m. EDT, an account associated with Pete Hegseth shared plans indicating that strikes were to commence around 1:45 p.m. EDT. By approximately 1:55 p.m. EDT, reports confirmed explosions in Sanaa, Yemen's capital. Following the strikes, group members exchanged congratulatory messages and emojis.
Administration's Response and Denials
The Trump administration responded to the revelations by asserting that the messages did not contain classified information. President Trump stated, «It wasn't classified information,» and referred to the incident as «the only glitch in two months.» White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt emphasized that, while the chat did not include classified information, the administration did not encourage the release of the conversation.
