Mumbai Matterz, an X handle that covers the happenings in the city, shared a video of the idol being unveiled on the microblogging site. The video shows a huge Ganesha idol, looking resplendent in gold and pink, seated on a dazzling throne.
Netizens flooded the comment section, to celebrate the arrival of the deity of prosperity and good luck.
“Hamare Pyaare Ganesh ji,” (Our beloved Lord Ganesha), gushed an X-user.
Another tweeted the sacred incantation associated with the deity, “Deva deva deva… Ganapati Bappa…”
Another gushed over the adorableness of the idol. “The most handsome king… Lalbaugcha Raja,” they wrote.
Widely regarded as Maharashtra's most famous Ganapati idol, Lalbaugcha Raja has over one crore devotees. Several celebs from the tinsel town such as Ajay Devgn, Ekta Kapoor, and Karthik Aaryan are said to be among the devout worshippers of Lalbaugcha Raja.
Devotees believe that this particular idol is Navasacha Ganpati and can manifest any wishes.
The idol was first installed by the Lalbaugcha Raja Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal at its pandal since 1934.
