Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have released a detailed report regarding the tragic Gaza hospital explosion. The IDF not only disavowed responsibility for the incident but also alleged that the number of casualties has been exaggerated. This revelation comes amidst ongoing tensions in the region.
According to the IDF's investigation, the incident unfolded on a Wednesday evening.
At approximately 6:15 PM, a barrage of rockets was launched by Hamas towards Israel. Just 44 minutes later, at 6:59 PM, another barrage of 10 rockets was fired by the Islamic Jihad from a nearby cemetery. It was precisely at this moment that the explosion occurred at the Gaza hospital.
The IDF's statement included this significant claim: «According to our intelligence, Hamas checked the reports, understood it was an Islamic Jihad rocket that had misfired — and decided to launch a global media campaign to hide what really happened.
They went as far as inflating the number of casualties.»
Furthermore, the IDF contended that it was the Islamic Jihad's rocket launch that had failed, resulting in the tragic incident at the hospital. They maintained that no Israeli fire, by land, sea, or air, struck the hospital.
Backing their claims, the IDF stated that their radar had detected rockets fired by terrorists from within Gaza at the precise time of the explosion. These rockets were launched in close proximity to the hospital.
