Ghost Kitchens has acquired Ahmedabad-based cloud kitchen firm Shy Tiger Brands.
The acquisition is part of Ghost Kitchens’ expansion strategy in Gujarat, it said in a statement. Shy Tiger operates five multi-brand cloud kitchens in Ahmedabad and operates brands like KBOB’s and The Black Chimney. Shy Tiger has an annualised revenue run rate (ARR) of Rs 5 crore, the statement added.
“We saw this as an opportunity to scale these brands and expand our presence into Ahmedabad and the Gujarat market. Moreover, brand affinity and customer repeat ratio give us a strong position to build up a business. Apart from plugging our brands in their existing kitchens, we could improve the unit economics and get a substantial yield from each kitchen and the entire state,” said Karan Tanna, founder and chief executive at Ghost Kitchens.
On February 22,Ghost Kitchens had raised $5 million in a mix of debt and equity funding, led by Gujarat Venture Finance Ltd. Other participating investors were NB Ventures, LetsVenture, Lead Angels, and existing investors Yuj Ventures, Dholakia Ventures and actor Rana Daggubati.
