Goldman Sachs is targeting sports deals, the clean energy transition and smaller M&A transactions, amid a slump in investment banking fees across the sector, according to its top bankers in Europe.
Gonzalo García and Anthony Gutman, who were named co-heads of investment banking for Emea at the Wall Street bank in 2020, told Financial News that they are looking to develop more expertise in-house and are hiring dealmakers again as they identify key areas for growth.
