Google Pixel phones have been equipped with Car Crash Detection since 2019-launched Pixel 4 series. However, the feature has been available only in select regions. Following Google’s release, Apple also launched the same with its second-gen iPhone SE and iPhone 14 line, three years later, in 2022. And now, California’s tech behemoth is expanding this feature to more regions including India.
Google has added India and four more nations to its list of supported regions for Car crash detection. Android Central spotted this first and noted that five new countries have been added where the tech giant supports car crash detection. Pixel phones may not detect all accidents, and high-impact activities could trigger the feature. The phone must be connected to a mobile network to call emergency services.
Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are currently available for sale in India starting at Rs 75,999 and Rs 1,06,999, respectively. Moreover, in a piece of related news, Google also announced during a showcase in Delhi-NCR that the company will soon bring the India-made Pixel phones starting next year.
