Google co-founder Sergey Brin has recently concluded his divorce from Nicole Shanahan, an attorney and entrepreneur, following allegations of her involvement with billionaire Elon Musk, according to a report by Page Six. Court documents confirm the divorce, which grants them shared legal and physical custody of their 4-year-old daughter.
While Shanahan did not contest the divorce, she did request spousal support, as indicated in the court papers.
Additionally, they resolved other matters, including attorney fees and asset division, through confidential arbitration.
According to Business Insider, the couple's romance started in 2015, the same year that Brin divorced his first wife, Anne Wojcicki. In 2021, however, they made the decision to divorce, and Brin did so in 2022, citing «irreconcilable differences.»
The New York Post reported that the divorce filing occurred approximately a month after allegations surfaced of Shanahan's brief involvement with Elon Musk, a long-time friend of Brin.
Both Musk and Shanahan denied any romantic relationship.
Responding to a Wall Street Journal article titled 'Elon Musk's Friendship With Sergey Brin Ruptured by Alleged Affair,' Musk stated, «Sergey and I are friends and were at a party together last night. I've only seen Nicole twice in three years, both times with many other people around.
Nothing romantic.»
Sergey Brin had previously been married to Anne Wojcicki, co-founder of 23andMe, for eight years. One of Brin's attorneys expressed concerns over the potential disclosure of confidential information regarding their minor child.
Meanwhile, Shanahan described the scandal as «utterly debilitating» and asserted that her relationship with Musk never extended beyond friendship.
