He said that the summit was a part of a bigger goal of making India a developed nation by 2047, adding that today’s India is laying road to the next 1000 years. «We not only want to become the top nation, but we also want to sustain at the top,» said Modi.
The prime minister said that India was the first nation among the G20 nations to fulfill the Paris Agreement nine years before the 2030 deadline. He said that the government wanted India to become a leading producer renewable energy.
Talking about India's green energy targets and investments, Modi said that the government had prioritised high performance bio manufacturing by launching the BioE3 policy. He further added that Rs 7,000 crore would be spent on producing offshore wind energy and Rs 12,000 crore for the production of 31,000 MW hydrogen.
Modi also spoke of the PM Surya Ghar scheme. «The scheme needs to be studied. We have set up funds for rooftop solar,» he said, adding that every house in India will become a power producer.
