Shivraj Singh Chouhan sought the guidance and blessings of saints in Ujjain on Thursday, to uphold Sanatan Dharma and stay on the righteous path. Chouhan addressed the sadhus present on the dais and acknowledged the challenges of politics, stating that it was easy to lose one's way. He emphasized the importance of their blessings to prevent any deviation from the right track.
«Saints, I need your help to stay on the right path because the political roads are full of chaos.» Every step comes with the risk of slipping.
One does slip every once in a while. Many people will sometimes put you in a «chakkar» (twist). So, I need blessings to stay on the right road," Chouhan told the sadhus.
During the event, Chouhan inaugurated the second phase of Mahakal Lok, which cost Rs 242.3 crore.
He also laid the foundation stones for Unity Mall, a project worth Rs 242 crore, and a medical college worth Rs 69 crore.
Chouhan also said that Sanatan culture cannot be eradicated. He condemned recent statements made by an INDIA bloc member that questioned Sanatan Dharma, referring to them as dengue, malaria, and viruses.
He strongly denounced such remarks, stating that they were unacceptable in India.
In recent public meetings, Chouhan had hinted at the possibility of not contesting the upcoming elections, suggesting that the people would miss him when he is gone. This speculation arose after the BJP announced its second list of candidates, including Union ministers Narendra Singh Tomar, Prahlad Patel, and Faggan Singh Kulaste, as well as national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya. Jyotiraditya Scindia is also considered a strong contender for the top post in the state.
