Visiting Ayodhya on Saturday, ahead of inauguration of Ram Mandir Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel announced that Gujarat Tourism department will construct a major “Yatri Bhavani” at Ayodhya for the benefit of the tourists visiting the town for the grand Ram Temple that is being built.
Patel had reached Ayodhya before embarking on his weeklong tour to Japan and Singapore for the promotion of Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024. He had also visited Hanuman Garhi temple in Ayodhya as well.
For the records, the inauguration of the temple is scheduled for January 22 next, while the tenth Vibrant Gujarat Investor Summit (VGIS) will take off from January 10.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate both.
Ram Temple is all set to hold more than a dozen festivals across the year to keep the devotees engaged. Meanwhile the cadres of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) will launch a nationwide door to door outreach between January 1 and 15 ahead of the inauguration of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on January 22.
Gujarat it may be mentioned, has a special connection with the temple as the architect of the grand temple Chandrakant Sompura a veteran architect of 15 generation based in Ahmedabad. The initial design of the temple was shown to the then VHP supremo Ashok Singhal in early 1990s during Allahabad Kumbh after Singhal had asked for to ion 1989.
Chandrakant Sompura, himself, has so far designed more than 100 temples including the Swami Narayan Temple in Gandhinagar, Ambaji Temple in Palanpur and several others.
The proposed temple in Ayodhya has been designed in the Nagara style, largely prevalent in the western part of the country, and one of the very few temples in the country with an octagonal sanctum sanctorum.
