Gurugram Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav Sunday issued an advisory to corporate houses to ask their employees to Work From Home (WFH) and schools to remain closed on Monday to avoid traffic congestion in several part of the Millennium city due to heavy rains. The Deputy Commissioner urged the residents to stay indoors and venture out only for essential work so that the waterlogged roads can be cleared as soon as the rain stops. “Corporates advised to allow staff to work from home on Monday for faster road drainage after rainfall subsides," the Gurugram Deputy Commissioner twitted.
Private schools in the city are expected to remain closed on Monday after an advisory issued by the district administration. The Police Deputy Commissioner further said most underpasses are opened for traffic due to effective drainage arrangements, avoiding waterlogging on NH 48. Traffic is moving smoothly.
"Due to incessant rainfall, roads are waterlogged and commuting is extremely difficult. Hence, the schools will remain closed tomorrow (July 10) for students' safety, by orders from the District Authorities," News agency PTI reported quoting a message from the principal of DAV public school, sector 14. Gurugram traffic police department said there is waterlogging due to continuous rain and traffic is moving at a very slow pace.
