A school in the German city of Hamburg has been locked down by police after a gunman was seen nearby.
Hamburg police said that there was currently a"major police operation" at the Otto Hahn School in Jenfeld.
"It is not clear whether the gunman observed actually entered the building or just walked 'in the direction of the school building' and then perhaps past the school," police said.
Tensions are running high in Germany after a gunman entered a university building in Heidelberg on January 24 and shot one person dead and injured three before turning the gun on himself.
