Gurugram district administration has banned the manufacture, sale and use of firecrackers to control pollution. This ban that comes into force from November 1 will be effective till January 31, 2024.
District Magistrate Nishant Kumar Yadav said in the order issued that in the public interest, the manufacture, sale and use of all types of firecrackers except green firecrackers and barium salt have been banned.

Under 1973, Explosives Act, 1884 and Explosives Rules, there will be a ban on the manufacture, sale, use of all types of firecrackers and all types of firecrackers except green firecrackers for the period from November 1, 2023 to January 31, 2024, » stated the ban order passed by the Gurugram district magistrate.
According to the order the use of green crackers will be allowed for a limited time only on special occasions like Diwali, Gurupurab, Christmas and New Year's Eve.
For Diwali or any other festival like Gurupurab, the bursting of firecrackers has been allowed only from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm. On Christmas and New Year's Eve, when such fireworks start around midnight, it will last from 11:55 pm to 12:30 am.
