HCLTech chairperson Roshni Nadar Malhotra was conferred France's highest civilian honor, the Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur (Knight of the Legion of Honour), the company said on Monday.
The award, which is conferred for outstanding service to France, recognised Nadar Malhotra’s business and sustainability contributions and efforts to promote economic ties between France and India, HCLTech said.
Nadar Malhotra said that France, where HCLTech has had a presence since 2009, is a strategic market. “We are committed to scaling our operations in the country and supporting the digital transformation of French businesses through our differentiated portfolio of services,” she said.
The fourth largest player in India’s $250 billion IT export industry, HCLTech services French companies across industries like aerospace, manufacturing, financial services and pharmaceuticals. It is also involved in imparting software coding skills in middle schools to boost France’s local technology ecosystem.
The award was conferred at a special ceremony held at the French Ambassador's residence in Delhi.
