Rainfall Statistics
The rain recorded varied across different parts of the city. Palam received 6.6mm, Pusa 6mm, Mayur Vihar 8.5mm, Ayanagar 0.7mm, and Pitampura 2mm of rainfall. However, Safdarjung, the base station, recorded no rain. Other areas like Lodhi Road and Ridge experienced trace amounts of rain, too minimal to measure.
Temperature and Humidity
With the onset of rainfall, the maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover around 36 and 27 degrees Celsius, respectively. Humidity levels ranged from 65% to 95%. Despite the rainfall, the city's total precipitation for July remains 22% below the normal, with only 118.2mm recorded so far against the average of 151mm.
Rising Water Levels in Yamuna
Due to the recent rains, the water levels in the Yamuna River have risen. Authorities have issued alerts to residents of Noida villages situated along the riverbanks. These residents faced severe flooding last year during the monsoon season, causing significant disruption in both Delhi and Noida.
