Murphy's co-manager since 2016 James Balfour is also absent from the fund, currently on paternity leave.
Head of UK equities Trevor Green is currently acting as interim portfolio manager of the fund, supported by portfolio manager Charlotte Meyrick.
Joseph Hill, senior investment analyst at HL, noted while Green has a «long track record of managing UK equity funds», the team at HL are «not familiar with» the manager, given his recent years managing institutional mandates.

Meyrick joined Aviva Investors in 2012, supporting UK institutional funds between 2013 and 2018, before shifting to the firm's UK Listed Small and Mid-Cap fund in 2019.
Hill explained the HL conviction had been based «largely» on Murphy, and with both Murphy and Balfour absent, this had dropped below the level required for it to retain its Wealth Shortlist recommendation.
