In an interview with KumKum Dasgupta, co-founder and CEO of Orb EnergyDamian Miller discusses the company’s journey, how it stands out as a leading solar panel manufacturer, and the future of solar in India.
Tell us about Orb Energy’s journey…
We launched in 2006. At that time, solar was 40 times the current cost, and so the only applications for solar were off-grid. We then targeted rural and semi-urban areas where customers suffered from unreliable power. Today, solar is a fraction of what it used to cost, and it has broad applicability across residential, commercial, and industrial customers.
