Polling to be held in 88 seats across 12 states and J&K; 189 constituencies to be covered
With India Meteorological Department warning of heatwave conditions in most poll-bound states and high humidity in some, Election Commission of India has taken a series of measures to ensure that weather does not impact polling.
Phase 2: 88 Seats|Parliamentary Polls contest heat up
Voting for the second phase of Lok Sabha elections will be held today, sealing the fate of 1,202 candidates in the fray for 88 seats spread across 12 states and J&K. Close to 16 crore registered electors will be eligible to cast their vote. More than a third of LS seats (189) will be covered with the completion of this phase of polling.
