Kanpur Test: The India-Bangladesh test match in Kanpur has greatly disappointed cricket fans due to rain interruptions. On Day 1, only 35 overs could be bowled, and Day 2 saw no play at all because of the inclement weather.
A wet outfield due to overnight rain has delayed the start of play on day three. The umpires will inspect the conditions at 10:00am.
According to Accuweather, the forecast for the third day (Sunday) is also unfavourable. Kanpur is expected to remain cloudy, with a 61 per cent chance of rain accompanied by scattered thunderstorms. The heaviest showers are expected between 10:30 am and 12:30 pm, the forecast said.
Sunday afternoon's forecast does not seem promising either, with thunderstorms predicted between 2:30 pm and 4:30 pm. The chances of rain stand at 60 per cent around 3:30 pm. Given Saturday’s interruptions, the outlook for Sunday poses further challenges and threatens more delays in the match.
Persistent rain forced the second day of the match at Green Park Stadium to be canceled without any play. Heavy rain prevented any cricket from being played.
