Indian Army and the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) agreed to resolve the remaining issues in an expeditious manner and maintain the momentum of dialogue and negotiations through military and diplomatic channels, ministry of external affairs issued a statement on the outcome of the military talks on Tuesday, which were held on Monday. Moreover, in the interim, the two sides agreed to maintain peace and tranquility on the ground in the border areas, the ministry added.
Both armies held the 19th round of military talks in eastern Ladakh on Monday to ease tensions along the contested Line of Actual Control (LAC), where the two sides have been locked in a standoff for more than three years. «The two sides had a positive, constructive, and in-depth discussion on the resolution of the remaining issues along the LAC in the Western Sector.
In line with the guidance provided by the leadership, they exchanged views in an open and forward-looking manner,» the statement further read. The talks, held at the Chushul-Moldo meeting point, began at 9.30 a.m.
