Maldives Deputy Minister Of Youth Empowerment to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who recently undertook a trip to the Union Territory of Lakshwadeep, sparked outrage in the country.

Several celebrities took to social media to support the outrage against the Maldives for the vitriol against India and promoted Lakshadweep through some breathtakingly beautiful pictures.
Superstar Akshay Kumar condemned objectionable comments against the PM and Indians and called Maldives officials out for sending hate to a country that contributes so much to its tourism.
“Came across comments from prominent public figures from the Maldives passing hateful and racist comments on Indians. Surprised that they are doing this to a country that sends them the maximum number of tourists. We are good to our neighbors but why should we tolerate such unprovoked hate? I've visited the Maldives many times and always praised it, but dignity first. Let us decide to #ExploreIndianIslands and support our own tourism,” wrote Bollywood’s Khiladi.
Kumar was far from the only superstar to come out in defense of the PM. ‘Dabangg’ star Salman Khan lauded the PM for promoting the ethereally beautiful islands of Lakshwadeep. “It is so cool to see our Hon PM Narendrabhai Modi at the beautiful clean and stunning beaches of Lakshadweep, and the best part is that yeh hamare India mein hain,” wrote the star.
Amitabh Bachchan also came out in support of the islands of Lakshadweep and Andaman. The ‘Paa’ star gushed about their spectacular scenic
