MG Motor India, through its newly established premium retail channel MG Select, has unveiled the MG Cyberster, an electric two-seater roadster that marries heritage with modernity. The Cyberster pays homage to the iconic 1960s MG B Roadster while incorporating cutting-edge technology. It will make its market debut in January 2025 at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo.
The MG Cyberster is set to be the first vehicle in the MG Select lineup, with the company aiming to introduce four new energy vehicles in the next two years. MG Select will cater to a growing demand for «accessible luxury» by providing exclusive experience centres across 12 Indian cities.
The Cyberster features a futuristic silhouette combined with retro styling cues. Its low-slung profile, arrow-shaped taillights, and distinctive rear diffuser give it a bold stance. The scissor doors, a first in Indian EVs, operate via a single-touch button on the door or key fob. According to the company, «Each door can be opened and closed in five seconds, and dual radar sensors ensure safety during movement.» Additionally, an anti-pinch bounce-back mechanism protects users from accidental injuries.
The side profile of the Cyberster features petal-shaped alloy wheels, a fabric soft-top, and sculpted side skirts. The door handles blend seamlessly into the accent line stretching from the A-pillar to the rear.
