India and England could not be further apart as they take to the pitch on Sunday. The Brits, defending champions, and — for all intents and purposes — out of contention for this year's trophy. On the other hand are the Men in Blue; raring to go, having won five out of five of their matches in the competition.
Rohit Sharma & Co. have looked imperious all tournament, winning against New Zealand and Australia, barely breaking a sweat while starboy Virat Kohli continues to break records, all while chasing.
Jos Buttler's men are currently at the bottom of the table, having lost four of their five matches — one of them against minnows Afghanistan — a position that is unlikely to change in Lucknow.
England's aggressive tactics seem to have failed in the subcontinent, with conditions in India stumping the champions in both the batting and bowling departments.
Selection dilemma?
India's only worry coming into the game is the absence of all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who has been out with an ankle injury and is likely to sit out a couple more games.
Captain Rohit Sharma might have a selection dilemma on his hands, however, with Hardik's absence only affording him space to play five bowlers, on a pitch that favours spin.
