The Indian Railway rolled out a dedicated train on Saturday, exclusively for cricket enthusiasts traveling from New Delhi to Ahmedabad to witness the Cricket World Cup 2023 final showdown. This initiative brings a sigh of relief to fans who were grappling with exorbitant airfares, ranging from Rs 20,000 to Rs 40,000.
The epic clash between cricketing giants India and Australia is scheduled for Sunday, November 19, at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium. In a commendable move, the special train offers seats at significantly lower prices compared to airfare, ranging from Rs 620 for a sleeper seat to Rs 3490 for a 1st AC seat. The 3AC economy and 3AC seats are priced at Rs 1525 and Rs 1665, respectively. Departing from Delhi in the evening, the train is set to arrive in Ahmedabad the following morning. Post-match, it will depart from Ahmedabad at 2:30 am for Delhi.
Notably, three similar trains are also in operation between Mumbai and Ahmedabad, catering to the fervor surrounding this cricketing spectacle.
As the anticipation builds for the India-Australia showdown, former cricketers share their insights on the potential victor. Sourav Ganguly, former skipper, emphasizes the importance of India maintaining their impressive tournament form, stating, “If India continues to play like how they have performed in the tournament so far, then it will be tough to stop them.”
Adding to the anticipation, ex-Australian player Michael Bevan deems India as the “clear favorites” but acknowledges Australia’s potential to clinch victory, emphasizing the need for improvement in their batting. The toss, according to Bevan, will play a crucial role, with the team winning it likely opting to bat first in this high-stakes encounter.
