Dense fog was witnessed in parts of Delhi and nearby regions on Saturday morning, even as visibility improved in several areas. According to news agency ANI, the persistently low visibility has caused disruptions in the arrival and departure times of numerous trains bound for Delhi.
Train services bore the brunt of the fog for the fifth consecutive day, leading to delays for 30 Delhi-bound trains.

Yesterday, a total of 11 trains have been delayed due to dense fog in the north Indian states. On Thursday, around 22 Delhi-bound trains including Rajdhani Express were affected due to the poor visibility.
On Saturday morning, parts of Delhi experienced moderate to dense fog, although there was an improvement in visibility in several areas, as reported by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The IMD’s advisory states that “cold-day conditions are very likely in some to many parts of Delhi on December 30 and 31.”
The main weather station at Safdarjung recorded visibility at 200 meters, while it was 500 meters at Ridge. The IMD issued an advisory for Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, north Rajasthan, and north Madhya Pradesh, warning that fog might impact visibility at airports, highways, and railway routes. The minimum temperature in Delhi was noted at 11.8 degrees Celsius, which is five notches above the season’s average, according to the IMD.
