Release Date
Set to premiere on May 12, the second season of the series is part of AMC's expanding Anne Rice universe. Season two was confirmed even before the series premiered, and filming wrapped up in 2023 after securing a waiver from SAG-AFTRA to continue production in Europe during an actors' strike.
Plot
In season two, set in 2022, vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson) recounts his life to journalist Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian). The story picks up after the events in 1940 New Orleans when Louis and Claudia (Delainey Hayles) conspired to kill the Vampire Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid). Louis narrates his adventures in Europe, including his quest to discover Old World Vampires and the Theatre Des Vampires in Paris, with Claudia. It is in Paris that Louis first meets the Vampire Armand (Assad Zaman). Their courtship and love affair have far-reaching consequences, both in the past and future, as Molloy delves into the truths hidden within Louis's memories.
Cast and Production Team
Ben Daniels joins the cast in season two as the leader of Theatre Des Vampires, with David Costabile, Roxane Duran, and Bally Gill in recurring roles. Series creator and showrunner Rolin Jones leads the executive production team, which includes Mark Johnson, Mark Taylor, Christopher Rice, and the late Anne Rice. The series is produced by AMC Studios.
