Indian Premier League 2024 as it kicks off this March 22. Ten teams will be clashing against each other for the coveted IPL 2024 trophy, a mega-event being organised by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in cities across cricket stadiums like Eden Gardens, MA Chinnaswamy Stadium, Narendra Modi Stadium, and many more.
BCCI-organised Indian Premier League (IPL) is a 20-over format game that began in the year 2008 when the first match was held in Bengaluru between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders. KKR won the match by a huge margin with New Zealand-based wicket-keeper (now retired) Brendon McCullum smashing a 150+ record breaking highest individual score.
Indian Premier League (2024) will be held from March 22 but according to a few news reports, some matches that were scheduled to be played in India may be moved to Dubai due to the Lok Sabha elections 2024 happening in India at the same timeline. Although no official word on this has been provided by the BCCI. Interestingly, this year's IPL auctions were also held in Dubai's Coca Cola Arena as it could not be arranged in India due to the festive and wedding season.

Due to the Lok Sabha elections, advertising deals related to this cash-rich league are also in a dilemma as investors are waiting on the final election schedules, mentions an ET report.
