Ira Khan’s resplendent red and gold lehenga seemed as if it was crafted straight from Bollywood dreams!
Aamir Khan’s daughter, who recently tied the knot with long-time beau Nupur Shikhare, stole the show at her Mumbai reception on January 13, as she appeared in a magnificent lehenga.
Deep red and dazzling, this lehenga seemed straight out of a Bollywood film!
According to a News 18 report, the lehenga seemed like a work of art because it was one! The three-piece lehenga reportedly took more than 300 hours to make!
In an interview withNews 18, costume designer Monali Roy, the CEO of Sereia Design Studio revealed that the lehenga combined traditional and contemporary aesthetique so superbly as it consisted of a conventional lehenga, with a more modern blouse cut. “Overall we took seven months to plan and execute the piece. More than 300 hours of labour went into producing the lehenga,” she told the publication.
The lehenga was created from pure silk. Roy said that she and Khan settled on a bright red shade as it would look amazing with gold embroidery and sequins. The zardozi embroidery made the lehenga an epitome of luxury.
The entire ensemble took approximately seven months to complete!
The grand reception was held at NMACC (Nita & Mukesh Ambani Culture Centre). It was a proper star-studded affair, attended by the who’s who of Bollywood such as Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif etc.
