Iran's drone strike on Israel, India on April 14 issued a statement pushing for a scaledown in Iran-Israel face-off.
India is concerned over the new emerging realities in the region, a statement by the External Affairs ministry said. «seriously concerned at the escalation of hostilities between Israel and Iran which threatens the peace and security in the region,» the statement read.
India's statement called for a de-escalation in the war. «We call for immediate de-escalation, exercise of restraint, stepping back from violence and return to the path of diplomacy,» it said.
As per the statement, India is «closely monitoring the evolving situation». India's embassies in the region are in close touch with Indian community residing there, it added.

The statement concluded by saying that it is vital that security and stability are maintained in West Asia.
India statement comes after Iran launched unprecedented drone strikes on Israel in apparent retaliation of the latter's attack on its embassy in Damascus, where a number of Iranian officials had been killed.
Iran had repeatedly threatened to attack Israel to avenge the deadly April 1 air strike on its Damascus consular annexe. The US had also issued repeated warnings lately that the reprisals by Iran won't be long in coming.
