From Gaza, the bodies of three more hostages killed on October 7 were recovered overnight, said the Israeli army on Friday.
The bodies of Michel Nisenbaum, Orion Hernandez Radoux, and Hanan Yablonka were found. Their families have been notified. The troops said they were slaughtered on the day of the attack at the Mefalsim intersection, and their bodies were taken to Gaza.
It is pertinent to mention here that less than a week ago the army said it found the bodies of three other Israeli prisoners killed on October 7.
In the October 7 attack, Hamas-led militants slaughtered about 1,200 people, mainly civilians, and abducted around 250 others. Around half of those captives have since been freed, in swaps for Palestinian captives held by Israel during a weeklong cease-fire in November.
Israel says, in Gaza, around 100 hostages are still captive, along with the bodies of about 30 more.
Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to both eradicate Hamas and bring all the captives back, but he’s made little progress. Netanyahu faces pressure to resign, and America has threatened to scale back its support over the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
