Kugali Media brings "Iwájú," an animated series set in futuristic Lagos, Nigeria, to Disney+.
Walt Disney Animation Studios and Kugali Media have unveiled the official trailer for their groundbreaking animated series, Iwájú. The series will premiere on Disney+ on February 28, 2024, with all six episodes available for streaming.

«Iwájú» follows the story of Tola, a young girl from a wealthy island, and her best friend, Kole, a self-taught tech expert, as they navigate the secrets and dangers of their worlds. Set in a futuristic Lagos, the series promises to delve into themes, such as class, innocence, and challenging the status quo.
Directed by Olufikayo Ziki Adeola and featuring a screenplay by Adeola and Halima Hudson, «Iwájú» boasts a talented cast including Simisola Gbadamosi, Dayo Okeniyi, Femi Branch, Siji Soetan, and Weruche Opia. The series is produced by Disney Animation’s Christina Chen and features unique visual elements and technological advancements inspired by the spirit of Lagos.
Alongside the series premiere, Disney+ will also debut "Iwájú: A Day Ahead," a documentary that shares the story of Kugali's founders and their journey to creating the series with Disney Animation Studios. Additionally, a new game, «Iwájú: Rising Chef,» will be released, allowing players to explore authentic African cuisine in a fast-paced cooking game.
