Jailer' stayed on to earn more than ₹500 crore globally, Sunny Deol's 'Gadar 2' approached ₹400 crore globally, and 'OMG 2,' starring Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi, crossed the ₹100-crore mark. As reported by Sacnilk, an Indian movie box-office tracking website, 'Gadar 2' recorded a global box-office collection of ₹433.7 crore by August 19. Within this, the Indian gross box-office figures reached ₹396.7 crore, complemented by overseas collections amounting to ₹37 crore.
Notably, the film's net collection (excluding taxes) from India reached ₹336.2 crore as it raced towards the ₹500 crore milestone. Jailer's gross box-office earnings globally stood at ₹477.6 crore, of which ₹307.6 crore came from India and ₹170 crore from abroad. The blockbuster Tamil film netted ₹262.15 crore from India in box office collections.
OMG 2, meanwhile, has collected ₹101.61 crore in net box office collections from India. The gross collections from India and abroad stood at ₹120 crore and ₹22 crore, respectively, taking the total gross worldwide collections to ₹142 crore. Gadar 2 and OMG 2 debuted in theaters on August 11, while Jailer was released on August 10.
The film industry had last week reported record-breaking gross box office receipts of ₹390 crore and attendance of 21 million from August 11 to 13.
