Jawan’ may have left the theatres, but its impact is as powerful as ever.
The Shah Rukh Khan-starrer is now the most popular Indian movie on the popular movie database website IMDb.
The social media handle of the database shared pictures of ‘Jawan’ director Atlee being handed an award.
Taking to Instagram on December 6, the director shared a picture of himself posing with the trophy and wrote that receiving this award was a “dream come true,” event for him.
“Jawan is a captivating emotional action entertainer that intricately portrays the profound emotional odyssey of a man who is determined to rectify the societal injustices. This film holds a significant place in our hearts.
Its reception and love from the audience worldwide is overwhelming.
Throughout my formative years, my knowledge and appreciation of world cinema have been greatly enriched by IMDb. Being honored by IMDb is truly a dream come true for me,” reads his post.
The post became viral on the picture and video-sharing website, gaining more than 57K likes.
‘Jawaan’ marked Atlee’s foray into Hindi cinema. The movie also had Shah Rukh Khan in a double role, that of a son and his father. Aside from Khan, the movie also starred South’s ‘Lady Superstar’ Nayanthara’s Bollywood debut.
It also had Deepika Padukone in a special cameo. It also starred Vijay Sethupathi in the role of the antagonist.
IMDb recently released a year-ender list that included the 10 most popular Indian movies that released between January 1 and November 6.
