Jeh Aerospace has raised $2.75 million in a seed funding round led by San Francisco-based venture capital firm General Catalyst.
Pratyush Kumar, former president of Boeing India, and Dwarakanath Srinivasan, former CEO and managing director of Airbus India, also participated in the round.
The funds will be deployed to build infrastructure, fuel growth and set up a team, the Hyderabad-based firm said in a statement on Wednesday.
The 2022-founded startup provides solutions to the aerospace and defense industries. These include manufacturing, engineering and supply chain management solutions with a specialisation in aero-structure and aero-engine components and assemblies.
The global aerospace industry offers challenges that impact its reliability and resilience, relating to complexity, geopolitical factors, supply chain disruptions and workforce constraints in its manufacturing centres in the US and western Europe, the company said.
“We were able to close a few customers without having anything on ground based on the credibility and value proposition that we are delivering. We will be opening up a brand new facility for manufacturing soon,” said cofounder and CEO Vishal Sanghavi, who set up the firm along with Venkatesh Mudragalla.
While Sanghavi was earlier chief operating officer of Tata Boeing Aerospace, Mudragalla was the former head of program management and operations at Tata Sikorsky Aerospace.
