Rahul Gandhi on Thursday hit out at the BJP-led government at the Centre, saying that unemployment is the biggest issue in the country, followed by inflation.
Speaking at a rally at Anupgarh in the Bikaner in Rajasthan, Gandhi said farmers are asking for a minimum support price for their crops, youngsters are seeking employment and women want relief from inflation, but the government has not been listening.
«Ask anyone — unemployment is the biggest issue. Inflation comes second. Ninety per cent people will say inflation, but if you follow the media, it will seem that the most important issue is (Anant) Ambani's wedding. Modi's face will be seen in the media 24 hours a day,» Gandhi said.
«Sometimes he (Modi) will go under the sea, sometimes he will be seen flying in a seaplane, sometimes he will be seen beating a thali, sometimes he will be seen asking people to show the flashlight of their mobile phones,» Gandhi said.
Gandhi said the first task of Congress if it comes to power will be getting a caste census conducted. The Congress leader said Modi waived loans of billionaires but did not waive farmers' loans. «Modi clearly told farmers that your loans will not be waived, you are terrorists and he will not give them MSP. Our government will implement MSP,» he said. Gandhi said bank accounts of Congress have been frozen.
He claimed armed forces did not want the Agnipath scheme for short-term recruitment, but Modi implemented it from the Prime Minister's Office.
