social media users, including some of his fans, are claiming that his new French film that released in Theatres recently, has been 'pulled' from theatres due to low ticket sales, according to a TMZ report.
Johnny Depp was featured in the French film Jeanne du Barry, which premiered back in 2023, and saw a release in US theatres recently, had to face flak of Depp fans based on a claim that it was pulled from theatres, especially in the Los Angeles area.
According to TMZ, some social media posts claim that JD's movie is grossly underperforming in the States. These posts also include screenshots of empty theaters, with only a seat or two filled in the theatres.
Jeanne du Barry was released back in the year 2023 in a premiere during a festival. However, it was announced that it will see a release in theatres across the United States this May. Back in March, the producers of the show claimed that they will be doing a few screenings of the film from May 2 to May 6 across different venues in the United States, which was done as promised. However, there are mixed takes on the performance of the film in theatres. While some claimed that the seats of the theatres remained empty, others claimed that the halls were filled with audience.
This indie flick was released in the French language and not as a blockbuster release.
