Siddaramaiah has nixed a proposal from the Excise department to issue permits for hundreds of new liquor retailing outlets to raise tax revenue.
“We will not open them,” the CM told the media at Chitradurga, responding to media queries. The minister (RB Thimmapur) has talked about plans to open 1000 liquor shops, but the government will not open them, the CM said.
