Kingdom of the Planet of Apes' has become the lifesaver of the box office in North America after reporting a record grossing during its opening weekend here, which was a needed surge to an otherwise uncertain season that has seen a fair share of ups and downs this year.
'Kingdom of the Planet of Apes' has been developed in tandem by 20th Century Studios and Disney and revolves around the 'Apes' trilogy from the 2010s, according to a 'New York Post' report. The film had the third-highest opening of the year a little behind Kung Fu Panda 4 which was released in early March and grossed $58.3 million in its opening week. Dune: Part Two sits comfortably at the top of this list after a whopping $81.5 million debut weekend.
