Kolkata by the BJP West Bengal unit, its state president Sukanta Majumdar on Friday said that the law and order has completely collapsed in the state and that chief minister Mamata Banerjee must take responsibility.
BJP state president said, «The situation is such that even after death, there is no relief. There is a syndicate raj prevailing in the hospitals.
We will gherao district magistrate office and also conduct 'Chakka Jam' and bring the state to a standstill.» Meanwhile, BJP Mahila Morcha organised a protest march, led by former MP Locket Chatterjee, MLA Agnimitra Paul, to the West Bengal Women's Commission to hold the «Lock the Commission» programme which was stopped by police. BJP Mahila Morcha leader Falguni Patra said, «Women's Commission is silent.
We are on the roads because of this. All our women representatives have been stopped in various parts.» On the other hand, Trinamool Chhatra Parishad organised protests at various places across the state.
The TMCP organised several meetings in various parts of the state, including Konnagar, Bishnupur and Behala.
Doctors in the city also held a protest procession in Kolkata's Mominpur demanding justice for the RG Kar Hospital victim. Meanwhile, in Medinipur Medical College, a TMCP party follower who is also a doctor, has allegedly threatened some students.
Following the incident, the doctor has been prohibited entry into the hospital as he allegedly threatened protesting students about uprooting them from the college hostels for continuing their protests. Some students, on the condition of anonymity, said they have received threats from certain quarters about their career, examination and other issues.
