KPI Green Energy and Ceenik Exports among a few other companies are likely to remain in focus today as they are approaching their record dates for the purpose of determining the shareholder eligibility for bonus share issuance.
Therefore, today marks the last day for the investors to purchase the shares of these companies in order to qualify for the aforementioned bonus issues.
The record date is the date set by the company to decide the shareholders who are eligible to receive the offer. To be eligible for a bonus issue, the shares should be in the demat account on the record date.
Shareholders who buy the stock at least one day before the ex-date are eligible for the bonus shares as settlement happens the next day. Those buying the stock on the ex-date are not eligible for dividends/splits/bonus issues etc.
