Krypton Solutions is likely to invest $100 million (Rs 832 crore) to set up a Printed Circuit Board (PCB) fabrication unit in Karnataka. Semiconductor manufacturing company Texas Instruments also affirmed its commitment to research and development (R&D) expansion in the state during a meeting with the state industries minister MB Patil in the US on Monday.
Krypton Solutions, which plans to invest in Bommasandra for a new PCB facility in Karnataka, has already completed preliminary discussions with the government.
The company’s discussion with the delegation also explored investment options in Mysuru and Chamarajanagar in Karnataka.
Krypton's interest in local partnerships and seeking support to identify the right entry and growth partner in the Indian market was also tabled at the meeting.
The government delegation toured Krypton’s 40,000 sq feet facility. At Texas Instruments, it visited the 300-mm wafer fab manufacturing site.
Patil on Monday held meetings with Texas Instruments, Krypton Solutions, and ERP Logic (ERPL) for increased investments in the state. This is part of the government’s 12-day tour to the US. The tour is scheduled to conclude on October 6.
Both Texas-based companies are part of the Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) industry and have a sizeable presence in Karnataka
