Lawlessness prevails in Bangladesh as Jamaat-e-Islami and radicals run the show with minorities being lynched of blasphemy and Vice Chancellors, Pro-VCs and Supreme Court judges forced to resign.
While Bangladesh Parliament has been dissolved illegally, all Supreme Court judges and many High Court judges including the Chief Justice and Attorney General were forcibly removed, according to Constitutional experts on Bangladesh.
As many as 33 permanent secretaries and 11 Ambassadors posted in various countries have been arbitrarily removed, according to reports.
Critics claimed that nearly 300 secretaries/Additional secretaries, hundreds of police commissioners, and Joint Secretaries have been appointed without any due process. There are also reports that the Board of Directors of all banks, financial institutions have been forcibly changed leading to total chaos in the financial sector.
While several TV channels have been shut down, more than 100 garment factories have closed down due to unrest. Certain convicted terrorists have also been released from prisons. All criminal cases against BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami activists have been withdrawn without due process of law.
A Hindu youth was reportedly targeted by a mob in Bangladesh over alleged blasphemy. The youth, Utsab Mandal, was attacked in Khulna on Wednesday.
According to reports, Mandal is a student of Azam Khan Government Commerce College in Khulna. He allegedly «taunted» Prophet Muhammad on a Facebook post.
